Cam Ward sat out the second half of Miami's bowl game after he set the NCAA career passing TD record in the first half. Miami lost the game. Is it better to just sit out or play until you set a personal milestone? On one hand the fans got to see one of their favorite players and he helped put them in a position to win, but on the other he quit the team mid game. I'd 100% rather have him just sit out entirely. That looks like he's being cautious and not entirely selfish. One of the things about NIL I was looking forward to was top players having a financial hit for opting out of bowl games, which would hopefully discourage this behavior. If you're a sponsor wouldn't you want your guy playing in a bowl game?
