Basketball was fun this week.

Of course, the men's team blasted No. 1 Michigan State 80-64 on Sunday, but the women's squad took care of business as well, downing No. 22 Michigan 78-71 in an overtime thriller, thanks to a second-half explosion from Kelsey Mitchell.

Mitchell averaged 29 points, 4 assists and 3.5 rebounds over her two games this week, including a season-high 37 points against Michigan where she scored 27 in the second half and nine in the overtime period.

This is the 11th time in her career Mitchell has earned conference player of the week honors and the third this season. She has the third-most player of the week awards in Big Ten history.
