There's a scary situation in Madison as Ohio State forward Makayla Waterman suffered an apparent neck injury towards the end of the third quarter.
Waterman fell backwards while fighting for an offensive rebound and appeared to hit her head and neck on the body of an opponent as she fell. When she hit the ground, she immediately reached for the back of her neck.
The training staff stabilized Waterman's neck before putting her on a stretcher. According to BTN, Waterman was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
Waterman did show movement in her hands and seemed to give a slight smile to her teammates before she was taken out of the arena.
Ohio State head coach Kevin McGuff said after the game that while he did not have an immediate update on her situation, Waterman did have feeling and movement in all of her extremities.
