Ohio State beat the 20th ranked Terriers of Boston University yesterday 15-9 in a game that started nearly perfectly, but saw the Buckeyes fase down the stretch. OSU built a very comfortable halftime lead of 10-1, but relaxed too much and gave up 8 goals in the 2nd half.
Ohio State won the groundball battle 42-36, but had fewer shots than Boston and failed to convert either of its EMOs. The Buckeyes really missed Jake Withers, as they only went 16-27 from the faceoff X, and committed 3 faceoff violations in the second half.
Jackson Reid led the Buckeyes with 4 goals, Sophomore Tre Leclaire added 3 more, and numerous other Buckeyes chipped in a single goal for the cause.
All in all, a decent win over a nationally ranked program.
Buckeyes play Hofstra on the 17th inside the Woody at noon. 2-0, looking for 3-0.
