After jumping out to a quick 5-0 lead in the first quarter, Ohio State ground out a 9-7 win over an experienced Hofstra squad at the Woody today. That brings OSU to 22-0 in the WHAC all time. Quite the arena to have in your pocket.
Tre Leclaire led all scorers with 4 points off 2 goals and 2 assists. Syracuse transfer Gale Thorpe added 2 goals and an assist, while senior captain Colin Chell added 2 goals as well to ice the game.
Matthew Smidt had 12 saves to lead a stout OSU defensive effort. The Buckeyes need to be a little more consistent over all 4 quarters, but 3-0 is 3-0. Next up is Jacksonville down in Florida next week.
