Gates, who previously worked at Boston College, was hired last June to replace Diana Sabau, who is now the Big Ten’s deputy commissioner, as Ohio State’s sport administrator for football. Gates’ other responsibilities within the athletic department included serving as the administrative liaison to the compliance and student-athlete support services offices and as the administrator for the department’s diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Her departure from Ohio State comes less than two months after her husband Dennis, who was previously the head men’s basketball coach at Cleveland State, became the head coach at Missouri.
