From ohiostatebuckeyes.com:
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Wednesday, the Big Ten announced the Academic All-Big Ten selections for spring and at-large sports, with 2,288 student-athletes from across the conference recognized. Ohio State led the way with 293 Buckeyes included.
A record 552 Ohio State student-athletes were named to the Academic All-Big Ten Team in 2021-22. The 293 honorees from spring and at-large sports join 140 from fall sports and 119 winter sport student-athletes. The previous high was set just a year ago (2020-21), when 527 Buckeyes were recognized (120 fall, 109 winter, 298 spring/at-large).
Ohio State’s 293 honorees account for 12.8% of the B1G’s spring total, which is a shade over 1/8th, which is impressive considering the B1G has 14 schools.
If I had to guess from Ohio State’s list, everyone on the women's rowing team must have made it. It had 53 honorees, nearly twice as many as women’s track and field (29). Men’s lacrosse (27), women’s lacrosse (25) and men’s track and field (20) also posted 20 or more.
Congratulations to all these student-athletes for their hard work and success, both in and outside of the classroom.
