A total of 167 Ohio State athletes were named Thursday as Big Ten Distinguished Scholars after they earned grade-point averages of 3.7 or better for the 2021-22 academic year.
40 of those Buckeyes earned 4.0 GPAs for the past year, including football players Harry Miller and Corey Rau and men’s basketball player Kyle Young, each of whom played their final seasons for the Buckeyes this past year.
A total of 1,516 athletes across all Big Ten sports teams received Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honors for 2021-22. Ohio State’s 167 honorees are the most of any school.
