Tonight on the Big Ten Network, beginning at 7pm you can see Tom Ryan and his squad of Buckeye wrestlers take on the toast of the college wrestling world, Cael Sanderson and his mighty Penn State program.

Given that the Buckeyes have been pretty consistent this year and the guys who were projected to do well have done so for the most part and a couple young guys have emerged, this meet has all the intrigue to be the most high-profile meet in the conference with the exception of perhaps Penn State and Iowa from a couple weeks back.

The match with the most intrigue, IMO is at 133# where up and coming freshman Buckeye wrestler Jesse Mendez (9) takes on reigning, defending, and 2x NCAA National Champion Roman Bravo-Young (1). Mendez has a really sharp, blitzing offensive style, and RBY is perhaps the best athlete at 133# and is a supremely defensive wrestler. No matter the outcome, it's likely these two see each other again in the conference championship, and both are going to qualify for the national tournament.

You can check the presumed lineups and it really is just banger after banger as far as the one on one match-ups that are believed to be on tap tonight.

Kaleb Romero at 184 for Ohio State is surging right now and is on a truly dominant run his last few matches out, but #1 ranked Aaron Brooks awaits for Penn State. Romero has never pulled off the W against Brooks who has been an absolute beast for Penn State. Romero has a ton of momentum, history isn't on his side, but when I watch him wrestle I see a new gear he's found this year.

Lots and lots of intrigue with this match-up, the wrestling team is still on the rise and has a chance to really shake up the national landscape tonight. It's a very tall mountain to climb, but coach Ryan has had his guys working at a high level this year.
