Ohio State blows out Indiana, 38-15. Now, it's time to do the same to That Team Up North.
Last night two relays were held - the 200 medley and 800 free. Indiana won both. The Buckeyes finished 8th in the 200 medley and second in the 800 free. After the first night Indiana leads with 128 points, tcun second at 108, Wisconsin tied for third with PSU at 102 with the Buckeyes fifth at 100.
Today's prelims had the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, and 1 meter diving. Buckeyes are well positioned in the 500 free with four swimmers in the top 8 while Indiana has none. Unfortunately the positions are flipped in the 200 IM with Buckeyes having one swimmer in the "B" consolation heat, none in the "C" or "A". Indiana has one in the "A" final but 4 in the "B". tcun has 4 in the "A" final. Unfortunately they are placing a number of strong individual swims on this second day.
In the 50 free, Ohio State has 2 in the "A" final and one in the "B" consol. Indiana has one in the "A" and 3 in the "B". tcun has 2 in the "A" and one in the "C". Wisconsin also is placing several swimmers in good points position as they have 3 in the "A" final.
Last prelim today was 1 meter diving where the Buckeyes shined. 3 in the top 8 including #1 by 15 points plus positions 10 and 17. Indiana 2 in the top 8 and 2 more in the next 8. tcun has one diver in the top 16 at position #9.
In addition to this events having their finals tonight they will also swim the 400 medley relay. I expect considerable shuffling of team score positions tonight from one event to the next with different teams being strong or weak from event to event.
