Two years after leading Ohio State women’s hockey to its first national championship, Liz Schepers helped lead Minnesota to the first-ever PWHL championship.
The former Buckeye scored the first goal of what turned out to be a 3-0 victory for Minnesota over Boston in the series-deciding Game 5 of the first-ever Walter Cup Finals.

Schepers is one of three members of Ohio State’s 2022 national championship team on the PWHL championship-winning Minnesota squad along with Sophie Jaques – who nearly scored a championship-clinching overtime goal in Game 4 before it was waved off – and Clair DeGeorge. Jaques was traded to Minnesota from Boston in February.
