Cash and Tracy, who earned a berth in the U.S. Open by winning this past season’s NCAA men’s doubles championship, became the first pair in nearly 30 years to win the NCAA championship and a match at the U.S. Open in the same year.
I believe Robert Cash and JJ Tracy of @OhioStateMTEN are the first NCAA men's doubles champions to win a round at that year's #USOpen since Mahesh Bhupathi and Ali Hamadeh of Ole Miss in 1995. https://t.co/Faar6pYHAs

The two former Buckeyes, who are both now professional tennis players, will face the 16th-seeded doubles team of Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni in the second round on Saturday.
