Update: The Buckeyes did it again on Saturday.

Ohio State women’s golf broke its 18-hole scoring record for the second day in a row on Saturday, shooting a 16-under 272 to set a new 36-hole program scoring record of 547 (-29).

Mandy Song led the Buckeyes with an 8-under 64 on Saturday while Kary Hollenbaugh fired a 68 for the second straight day to move into a tie for first place through 36 holes.

With inclement weather forecast for Sunday, the first nine holes of the final round of the Clemson Invitation were also played on Saturday. With just nine holes left to play on Sunday, Ohio State sits at -35 for the tournament, giving it an eight-shot lead over second-place Arkansas.

The Ohio State women’s golf team had its best 18-hole round ever on Friday afternoon.

Ohio State’s Kary Hollenbaugh, Marina Joyce-Moreno, Faith Choi and Nellie Ong combined for a 13-under score of 275, the lowest 18-hole team score in program history, to take first place through one round of the Clemson Invitational. Hollenbaugh shot a 4-under 68 while Choi, Joyce-Moreno and Ong each shot a 3-under 69 on Friday.

The Buckeyes have a 1-stroke lead over SMU entering the second round of the Clemson Invitational, which continues Saturday and concludes Sunday at the Reserve at Lake Keowee.
