Well well well, look who we have at #1 this week? Everyone seems agree, just ask Massey and his composite of popular polls and computers, yet the coaches and AP poll don't seem to have gotten the memo. This week I decided to bold any particular ranking that was more than +/- 2 from their BCS Ranking... and all we get is Ohio State in the Coaches Poll and Utah and Baylor confusing the computers.
I apologize for last week forgetting when LSU and Alabama play, and once I realized that error I guessed correctly that we might end up at the top after a convincing win over Wisconsin. Auburn and Notre Dame both drop out this week, and Oklahoma, interestingly enough, is not ranked higher than 9th by any part of the formula and ends up 8th in average. Georgia, despite being ranked 7/8 in the polls sits at 12th because apparently the computers hate them. We all know about why you shouldn't lose to an unranked conference foe, right Wisconsin? Meanwhile Minnesota sits at 13th despite being 8-0.
I'm personally excited about the Minnesota PSU matchup coming up. PSU is a computer darling lately being at 2 in several. I think Minnesota could spring the upset, then lose to Wisconsin, and still win the west. I think that's the best case scenario for us as it would show that PSU is overrated (aren't they always?) and give us a great matchup that isn't a rematch in the conference championship game, without hurting our strength of schedule too much. Not that we need it since according to some of the computers, Cincinnati is #6 and is the best win of any team in the FBS. If you recall, we did pretty well that week.
Go Bucks, let's win the Natty.
