No movement in the top 5 this week although LSU and Alabama gained a small amount of ground on Ohio State despite none of the three playing. Ohio State's average was actually exactly the same (lost 6 1,000ths of a point in the AP, gained 7 1,000ths in the coaches) as last week. Georgia meanwhile essentially swapped places with Florida after their win, vaulting the entire top 10 except for Oregon. Even the computers hate them less this week (they were unranked in 2 of them last week, now they are top 15 in all 6).
Baylor is still not being respected by the human polls but that improved a bit this week with their computer average also improving, despite staying at 10 overall. If the computers had their way, you would also see Auburn and Cincinnati above Georgia, Utah, and Oklahoma despite Auburn having 2 losses and Cincinnati having 1 and being non-Power 5.
Minnesota is also now the lone undefeated outside the top 10, though there is consensus among the computers and the human polls about their ranking at 13. This weekend will tell us if they are for real as they play Penn State. I wouldn't be surprised if they jumped as high as 5 with a win, and I doubt Penn State would fall outside the top 7 with a loss.
This weekend will also tell us whether or not Alabama deserves their human votes since the computers have them at 5. Even with a win they may not overtake Ohio State enough in the computers to supplant them at #1, though, since the human voters already have them at the top. Should they lose, they could fall all the way to 8 or worse.
