Imagine this scenario:

Alabama beats Georgia
Michigan loses to Iowa
Cincinnati beats Houston
Baylor beats Oklahoma State (in an ugly game)

If that were to happen, a very real possible playoff line-up could be:
1. Alabama
2. Georgia
3. Cincinnati
4. Notre Dame
(I actually think a 2 loss, Big 12 champion Baylor would jump a 1 loss Notre Dame, but I don't know that for sure...Baylor is currently 9th and Notre Dame 6th)

This line-up would include: 2 SEC schools, I group of 5 school, and an independent.

No Big 10. No Big 12. No ACC. No Pac 12.

I think a scenario like this would accelerate us faster into an expanded playoff.  Crazy to think...
