For those who watched A&M with an opportunity to defeat Bama on the final play from the two, you saw one of the worst drawn up plays that I can recall from that position. For those who didn’t see it, here’s an article with the play embedded showing the WTF moment with A&M’s season on the line. https://www.si.com/.amp/college/2022/10/09/alabama-survives-after-texas-...
That leads to the question, if OSU was in an identical situation: season on the line, last play of the game, ball on the 2, all or nothing, what play do you dial up?
For me, it’s got to have an option built in, some trickery or creativity to it, and it can’t take forever to unfold. I’m thinking a play action pass, rolling right with multiple layers of receivers heading toward that right side in the end zone. If there’s an open receiver, take it. If there’s an opening to rush it in, take it. If neither of those are there, have a Mitch Rossi feigning block and then sneaking to the back side as a last option outlet.
So what say you? Day’s asking you what to call- what do you tell him to run with the game on the line from the 2?
