Two rare events occurred on November 2, 1985: Ohio State defeated a top-ranked Iowa football team, led by a Hawkeye QB who was a Heisman front-runner.

"Unfortunately Ohio State lost the next home game against Wisconsin. They lost at Michigan too. An ugly win over BYU in Holiday Bowl resulted in a sixth straight 9-3 season. Buckeyes fans weren't pleased, and Earle Bruce was more unpopular than ever. A coaching change looked likely in 86."

Pain in the rain in the Shoe for Chuck Long and Hayden Fry. Before this game, Fry walked his guys around Ohio Stadium, to honor all those buried here. Most fun I've ever had in the rain!
