Sorry for the doomsday subject title but this is something I feel strongly about, and I know this is a constant conversation among Ohio St fans. First let me also say, I like Ryan Day and have been a huge supporter and also a huge apologist for him since he took over as HC. Prior to this year, I would have never believed Day would leave this program or be let go. However, with how things have looked this season and his resume in big games, Ryan Day is now in the position that he has to prove the narrative wrong and people wrong. With NIL and the expectations being at an all-time high, there is no room for anything but being this program being elite.

After the loss to Oregon, there are 3 scenarios I've talked about that I believe could play out and end Day’s career at Ohio State 1.) Losing to Michigan (again) 2.) Not making the CFP 3.) Making the CFP but being embarrassed in the first game. With those scenarios in play, it makes this week's game against Penn St very crucial for Day's future. If we lose this game, it will be an uphill climb to make the CFP, and we still have Indiana and Michigan on the schedule. I am holding out hope that we can turn the ship around but given the struggles of the o-line, defense and even our offense at times, I am a bit skeptical. It could be the beginning of the end for the Day era at Ohio St.
