Highly touted American winger Christian Pulisic, who first made waves in late 2015 when he broke into Borussia Dortmund's first team at the age of 17 has once again made history. Already holding numerous records in both the German Bundesliga (youngest non-German to score a Bundesliga goal, youngest player ever to score two Bundesliga goals), in European competition (youngest American to ever score a Champions League goal, first American to score a goal in a knockout game), and for the US Men's National Team (youngest goal scorer ever, youngest player to play in a World Cup qualifier, youngest player to ever wear the captain's armband), Pulisic now breaks another record. His $73 million transfer to Chelsea FC in the Premier League shatters the previous American transfer record of $22.6 million paid by Wolfsburg for defender John Brooks.
Pulisic won't immediately start playing in London, however, as part of the deal is that he will be "loaned" to Dortmund for the rest of the European season. Pulisic has had a rough season with Dortmund so far, and after a bright start has seen his playing time diminish due to a combination of injuries and the emergence of young English sensation Jadon Sancho.
