I'm just going to drop this here. Charlie Kelman may well never amount to much (though if nothing else, this goal proves the kid has gumption to spare, and, in the mold of Clint Dempsey, "tries shit") as a soccer player, but my God is that an incredible way to mark your professional debut.
With his team Southend United trailing 3-0 to Plymouth Argyle, 17 year old Charlie Kelman saw an open goal and, with the ball at past the halfway line, thought, "Oh what the hell, why not take a shot?"

Bonus: got to love the kid's hustle in getting the ball back to midfield, not giving himself any time to celebrate his goal when his team is still down 3-1. The kid's got the right attitude.
