An article in the Associated Press out of Atlanta details another assault on an official AT A 12 u SOFTBALL GAME. I am outraged that things are getting worse.  "Without officials, its just recess" is a great quote from the article.  But, yes the woman that punched that umpire will be charged.  But that is no longer enough.  We all need to change the culture in youth sports before it all goes away.  High School games are already being cancelled.  There are roughly 35% less officials today than before Covid hit.  Its only going to get worse unless we all start taking ownership of the problem.  Coaches need to kick players off their teams if their parents embarass the players.  Fans in the stands need to intercede to stop these parents from embarrassing their kids.  It starts with us.
