Despite never playing college or even high school football, Tyreke Smith’s older brother Malik Smith has landed an opportunity to compete for an NFL roster spot, accepting an invitation to the Cleveland Browns’ rookie minicamp in May.

Smith, who played college basketball at UNC Asheville before transferring to Bryant and later to Fisk University, is attempting to make it in the NFL as a tight end and put his skills on display at Ohio State’s pro day, making enough of an impression that the Browns are giving him a chance to prove he’s worthy of a spot on their roster.
