First off, I think it is really cool and unique to have three big men as the top 3 MVP candidates. Jokic, Embiid, and Giannis all can dominate the game in different ways, but Jokic was named a back-to-back MVP winner this morning.
I know Michael Porter Jr. and Jamal Murray were injured all year and there was not much more Jokic could do in the playoffs, but I can't help but wonder if Embiid was robbed. The 76ers-Heat series has completely turned around with Embiid returning to play. In my opinion, there is no player more dominant than Joel when he is on his game. Jokic is the most talented passing big man in the history of the game, he impacts the game in so many ways, but like Steve Nash when he won back-to-back MVPs, he seems to be missing that X factor to put his teams over the top.
This is not a decision in which I have extremely strong opinions, I just found it to be odd. By the way, I hope all of you are enjoying the NBA playoffs right now. I have not seen this amount of parity and overall talent this deep into the playoffs in a long, long time. I still could not tell you who will win the title, although I do think we will see a Bucks vs. Warriors finals.
