This topic stems from this thread. 

Correct me if I'm wrong: aren't downvotes supposed to be used to counteract trolls, ignorance, and the like? I was troubled by the downvoting of buckeyeguy0615 and silverbullet10. They basically were discussing what they had observed about Braxton's personality over the year. Their opinions were unpopular and IMO wrong. They were downvoted heavily. I took issue with the DV's because I didn't see anything in their content that violated the commenting policy. 

tl;dr Should you downvote someone just because you disagree with them? Or is it just for violating site policy?
