"The Media Could Not Be Played" , or( "Your Browser does not support playback of this video.")

I am unable to watch playbacks of videos posted in articles.

Is the reason because I use an Ubuntu as the operating system, not windows?

Or, is it an issue with the fact I use Mozilla firefox to do playback of videos?
