As first reported by Scout reporter Mike McCallister, four-star 2018 small forward Darius Bazley of Cincinnati Princeton committed to Syracuse on Monday afternoon.
"Syracuse is a great place," Bazley told Scout. "Coach Boeheim is unbelievable. He's a legend. They're a great coaching staff and I trust their development that they'll be able to get me to the next level."
Bazley originally committed to Ohio State in August 2016 before decommitting in April.
“Ohio State, they didn’t make the NCAA Tournament this year,” Bazley told The Columbus Dispatch a day after exiting Thad Matta's program.
The hiring of Chris Holtmann and an abundance of playing time available in Columbus apparently weren't enough to bridge the gap with Syracuse in Bazley's eyes.
