Before Ohio State took the floor Sunday against Wisconsin, it was already assured to be the No. 6 seed in next week's Big Ten tournament in Chicago. Even if the Buckeyes would have defeated the Badgers, their seeding would not have changed.
Ohio State's opening game in the Big Ten tournament will be played Thursday at approximately 9 p.m. The Buckeyes will play the winner of Wednesday's game between Rutgers and Minnesota, the No. 14 and No. 11 seeds, respectively.
The game between the Scarlet Knights and Golden Gophers will be played 7 p.m. Wednesday. Ohio State played each team once this season and went 2-0 in those games. The Buckeyes defeated the Scarlet Knights, 79-60, on Feb. 8 and beat the Golden Gophers, 74-72 in overtime, on Jan. 6.
The top-four seeds in the Big Ten tournament are Wisconsin, Maryland, Michigan State and Purdue. Those four teams received a double-bye and won't have to play until Friday.
