After Dane Goodwin announced his decommitment from Ohio State a couple of weeks ago, many wondered if the Columbus-area star would end up back in the fold once things settled with the Buckeyes' coaching change.
On Wednesday, we received that answer: He will not be.
Goodwin announced his commitment to Notre Dame on his personal Twitter account.

Goodwin is a four-star shooting guard and the No. 91-ranked prospect in the country, according to 247Sports composite.
Goodwin committed to Ohio State during his freshman year of high school in December of 2014. He remained solid in his pledge until recently when it was announced Thad Matta would no longer be the Buckeyes' head coach. Goodwin remained committed throughout the coaching change, but shortly after Chris Holtmann was announced as Matta's replacement, Goodwin chose to re-evaluate his options.
Ohio State was always going to remain an option for Goodwin, but Notre Dame and Villanova both became instant threats. Goodwin visited both schools in addition to taking an official visit to Ohio State last week.
In the end, Goodwin opted to choose the Irish.
The Buckeyes currently have zero verbal commitments in their 2018 class. The top two in-state prospects remaining on their board are four-star point guard Dwayne Cohill and four-star wing Jerome Hunter.
