Former Ohio State basketball assistant coach Greg Paulus has been hired as an assistant coach at Louisville, according to multiple reports.
Per Jeff Greer of the Courier-Journal, Louisville interim head coach David Padgett is set to announce Paulus' hiring on Thursday afternoon. Padgett is in the process of rebuilding Louisville's coaching staff after being named interim coach last month when Rick Pitino, who was officially fired Monday, was placed on administrative leave.
Paulus spent the last six years as a member of Thad Matta's staff at Ohio State, first as a video coordinator from 2011-13 and then as a full-time assistant coach until this past June, when Matta's tenure as Ohio State's head coach came to an end. Paulus was not retained by new Ohio State basketball coach Chris Holtmann, who brought all three of his assistant coaches from Butler to the Buckeyes.
