The 10-member Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2019, which includes Matta, Hawk and Nugent, assembled at the Ohio Union for its induction ceremony on Friday. Before the Hall of Fame Banquet at the Archie M. Griffin Grand Ballroom of the Union, all three former Buckeyes spoke to the media about their memories in college and their introductions.
Boyd Cherry (football), Justin Fry (baseball), Jim Foster (women’s basketball coach), Stan Lyons (men’s track and field), Andrew Pierce (men’s track and field), Natalie Spooner (women’s ice hockey) and RJ Umberger (men’s ice hockey) are also part of the 2019 hall of fame class.
The inductees will be publicly introduced during halftime of Ohio State's game against Cincinnati on Saturday.
