Malaki Branham dazzled one again, and the Buckeyes came up with a big win on the road Thursday.
The freshman guard dropped a game-high 31 points in the 86-83 Ohio State win over No. 15 Illinois, which saw the Buckeyes go up 16 in the second half before holding off a late run by the Illini to make it a one-point game down the stretch.
Holtmann called Branham "sensational" after the win, Illinois head coach Brad Underwood said he's the best player in the Big Ten, and both Branham and E.J. Liddell – who had 21 points while battling through the flu – broke down the game after the fact.
