After losing three of its final four games of the regular season, Ohio State will have to win four games in a row to win the Big Ten Tournament.

With Rutgers’ win over Penn State and Ohio State’s loss to Michigan on the final day of the regular season, the Buckeyes fell into a tie with Rutgers in the conference standings and will be the No. 6 seed in this week’s Big Ten Tournament because of their head-to-head loss to Rutgers during the regular season.

That means the Buckeyes will play their first game in Indianapolis in Thursday’s second round of the tournament, where they will play the winner of the first-round game between No. 11 seed Penn State and No. 14 seed Minnesota. The Buckeyes’ first game will tip off at approximately 9 p.m. Thursday and will be televised on Big Ten Network.

Illinois earned the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten Tournament with its win over Iowa on Sunday night. Wisconsin is the No. 2 seed and Purdue is the No. 3 seed, while Rutgers earned the fourth and final double bye. Rutgers, Iowa and Ohio State all tied for fourth in the final regular-season Big Ten standings, but the Scarlet Knights and Hawkeyes both beat the Buckeyes head-to-head while Rutgers also earned a head-to-head win over Iowa.

(Correction: This article originally stated Wisconsin would be the No. 1 seed, but the Badgers’ loss to Nebraska on Sunday opened the door for Illinois to earn the No. 1 seed with its win over Iowa.)
