Ohio State added a neutral-site non-conference contest to its 2023-24 schedule on Wednesday.
The Buckeyes will take on West Virginia next season in a matchup that will take place on Dec. 30 in Cleveland. A contract has not been finalized with a venue as of yet, but Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse could be a likely host site.
Ohio State dropped its last meeting with West Virginia, 67-59, on Dec. 29, 2019, at the Cleveland Cavaliers' home arena. The Buckeyes have lost their last three straight matchups against West Virginia dating back to 2008-09, and eight of the last nine in the all-time series. However, the Buckeyes still hold a 9-8 edge over the Mountaineers all-time.
The Bob Huggins-led Mountaineers went 19-15 in 2022-23 and make the NCAA Tournament as a No. 9 seed before bowing out in the first round of the Big Dance with a two-point loss to Maryland.
