This season, White averages 24.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.6 steals per game for Ottawa-Glandorf, leading the Titans to a 24-3 record and the state semifinals this weekend. As Ottawa-Glandorf prepares to face Harvest Prep at UD Arena, White needs five points to surpass the 2,000 mark for his high school career.
White is the 12th Ohio State signee to win Ohio Mr. Basketball and the third in four years. Freshman forward Devin Royal (Pickerington Central) won the award in 2023, and now-San Antonio Spur Malaki Branham (St. Vincent-St. Mary) won the award in 2021. The 2022 winner was Indiana freshman Gabe Cupps (Centerville).
A 6-foot-5, 180-pound forward, White signed with Ohio State last November. After the Buckeyes fired head coach Chris Holtmann in February, White reaffirmed his commitment to the program to Adam Jardy of The Columbus Dispatch. White's relationship with Ohio State's new coach, Jake Diebler, was one of the several reasons he chose to stick around.
