Ohio State might have missed its likely starting center on Friday, but it sounds like the Buckeyes will get him back in short order.
After Aaron Bradshaw missed Ohio State's 80-62 exhibition loss to Cincinnati on Friday, coach Jake Diebler said he doesn't expect Bradshaw's injury to be anything long-term.
"Don't anticipate him being out very long," Diebler said after the loss. "He's working his way back, and hopefully (he will be) here in the next handful of days."
Bradshaw took the court in street clothes as Ohio State came out in warmups and spent the contest cheering his teammates on from the bench. A five-star prospect from the recruiting class of 2023, he transferred to Diebler's program from Kentucky this offseason.
The 7-footer averaged 4.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.7 blocks in 13.9 minutes per game for the Wildcats as a freshman last year. Per 40 minutes, that translates to 14.6 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.1 blocks.
The Buckeyes aim to have him back when they open their regular season against Texas on Nov. 4 in Las Vegas as part of the Hall of Fame series. Tipoff for that contest is at 10 p.m. on TNT.
