Ohio State had more representatives at last year's edition of Nike Football's The Opening Finals than any other school in the country, with 11 prospects invited to the prestigious camp.
It'll be difficult to match or exceed that number in 2017, with only five total commits thus far. But the Buckeyes will still be well-represented in the Pacific Northwest this summer, as four-star running back commit Jaelen Gill has been invited to the finals for the second-consecutive year.
"It means a lot," Gill told Eleven Warriors. "Words cannot really describe how excited I am to just being back and competing with some of the best athletes in the country."
He was among the more than 300 prospects from all over the Midwest to participate in Sunday's Cleveland Regional.
The 6-foot-1, 182-pound Gill, from Westerville South, is considered the third-best all-purpose back and No. 34 prospect overall in the Class of 2018. He picked the Buckeyes last month over more than 30 offers from programs such as Michigan, UCLA, USC and Virginia Tech.
The event will take place in Beaverton, Oregon, in either late June or early July.
