Ohio State quarterback commit Emory Jones has been the subject of much discussion recently, as a potential official visit to Alabama this weekend loomed. He told Eleven Warriors following Heard County's 35-28 win over Callaway on Friday night that he won't be making that trip, however.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Jones has been committed to Ohio State since July 2016, but this weekend was considered a critical juncture in his recruitment. He'd been to Tuscaloosa three times since the Crimson Tide offered him a scholarship in Mach — most recently for their win over Ole Miss late last month — and the staff was a little bit concerned about the strength of his pledge as a result.

Jones and those around him continued to insist he was just using his visits this fall to make sure Columbus is the place he wants to be. But another trip to Alabama would have at the very least forced the staff to look at other options in case Jones flipped his pledge.

In Friday night's win over the defending state runners-up, Jones broke off a 60-yard run, scored twice and led the Braves on a game-winning drive. He also wore an Ohio State do-rag and gloves when he was on defense.

Sounds solid to me.
