The Hurry Up is your nightly dose of updates from the Ohio State football recruiting trail, keeping tabs on the latest from commits and targets from around the country.
Luke Wypler Looks Forward to "Check-In"
Ohio State offensive center commit Luke Wypler planned his next visit to Columbus around an injury he suffered to his shoulder. The 6-foot-4, 290-pound lineman tore his labrum and is beginning rehab shortly, meaning he needed to schedule his April 5 visit around his rehabilitation.
The injury isn’t too serious to Wypler’s shoulder, and his visit doesn’t have that high of stakes either. The New Jersey-native said his visit will serve as a “check in” to make sure the program is still what he committed to in July.
“It’s just a check-in to make sure it’s all the same there,” Wypler said. “To see if I still have the same feeling on the campus and things like that. I’ll meet all the new coaches too. There won’t be any checking boxes or anything like that.”
When Wypler was being recruited and eventually committed, Urban Meyer and Greg Schiano were both on staff in Columbus. Now, the coaching staff has a much different look, and even though Day has reached out to Wypler and the two have developed a good relationship, Wypler still wants to meet the new staff.
The departure of Meyer didn’t sway Wypler’s opinion of the program at all, he said. He still has the same feeling about his offer and commitment as he did when the Buckeyes offered him and he called his girlfriend immediately after. That’s a reflection of the confidence he has in Day to continue what Meyer had instilled in his tenure at the helm but also of the fact that Wypler committed to the program’s culture, not an individual coach coach.
“I picked the school for its culture and its academics,” Wypler said. “Those were two of the pillars I really used in my recruitment. I feel comfortable with my decision still. There’s no better place than OSU.”
Terah Edwards Continues to Work for Offers
Three-star Madison Groveport lineman Terah Edwards had two big visits last weekend on quick turnaround. The Groveport-native had his second visit to Ohio State in two weeks when he attended Student Appreciation Day on Saturday, and then he went to Ann Arbor the next day to pay a visit to Michigan.
Both visits ended with different results. Edwards left Columbus without an offer but came home from Ann Arbor with an offer from the Wolverines. He now has offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern and others, but his offer from Ohio State isn’t coming as easily.
He told Eleven Warriors after his last visit in early-March that defensive line coach Larry Johnson wants Edwards to attend a camp during the summer to show that he is continually getting into better football shape. Edwards isn’t taking it personally, he said.
“I got to see Jack Sawyer. We both play in the same league. And I talked with Elliot (Donald), so I can see that OSU is offering the right guys,” Edwards said. “Coach Johnson told me I can get an offer if I go to a camp and he likes what he sees. And I have more tape of me on the offensive line versus the D-line, so it’s understandable.”
While Edwards is encouraged by Johnson investing the effort in his development and recruitment because the opportunity is there for him to earn an offer, the Groveport two-way lineman said he also can’t ignore the schools that have offered him by focusing on Ohio State too much.
After returning home with a Michigan offer, Edwards is planning to visit Penn State, Northwestern and Purdue soon as well, and he will be attending many camps for those schools this summer as well.
Miles Brooks Commits to Georgia Tech
Jacksonville four-star cornerback Miles Brooks out of Trinity Christian Academy, the same high school as current Buckeyes Shaun Wade, Marcus Crowley and Tyreke Johnson, announced that he has committed to Georgia Tech.

New Ohio State Offers
A few new Ohio State offers got lost in the flurry of a busy recruiting weekend. Three visitors were offered during the weekend.
Greg Crippen, an IMG Academy 2021 offensive guard, was extended an offer, while Connecticut 2021 quarterback Jack Brandon and New Jersey 2021 defensive tackle George Rooks, who also has offers from Michigan, Auburn and Notre Dame, also received offers.
