Ohio State has added another defensive tackle to its 2024 recruiting board.

OSU defensive line coach Larry Johnson extended an offer to three-star Florida prospect Sean Sevillano Jr. on Friday, giving the 6-foot-2, 300-pound recruit his 23rd Division I offer.

Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Sevillano is the 900th-ranked player and the 75th-rated defensive lineman in the 2024 class. Schools that have offered Sevillano include Duke, Kansas, Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Liberty, Louisville, Maryland, Stanford, Toledo, UAB, Troy, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

Last season for Clearwater Academy International (Clearwater, Florida), Sevillano helped lead his team to a 10-1 record. He racked up 75 tackles (21 for loss), a whopping 19 sacks and 3 forced fumbles in 11 games played for Clearwater Academy International.

Dylan Stewart to visit Ohio State March 24

One of Ohio State’s top defensive end targets in the 2024 cycle is planning a return trip to Columbus. Five-star Washington D.C. product Dylan Stewart announced he’d be visiting Ohio State on March 24, and he has a host of other collegiate visits planned this spring as well. Other schools Stewart plans to visit include Alabama, Michigan, Georgia, Penn State, South Carolina, Colorado, Oregon and Tennessee.

In Stewart’s junior season for Friendship Collegiate Academy, he racked up 16 sacks en route to helping his team to a championship. He’s considered the 28th-best prospect and fourth-rated edge rusher in the 2024 cycle per 247Sports’ composite rankings, while On3 named Stewart the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2024 class.

Stewart last visited OSU last summer for a recruiting camp, where he thrived in individual drills and lauded Ohio State, saying the Buckeyes were a “10 out of 10” in terms of a place to visit.

Jordon Johnson-Rubell to visit OSU March 26

OSU is prepping to host a playmaking defensive back prospect on campus in late March, as On3 reports four-star Florida safety Jordon Johnson-Rubell will visit Columbus on March 26.

Johnson-Rubell, considered the 87th-rated player and seventh-ranked safety in 2024, was offered by the Buckeyes on Jan. 13.

Johnson-Rubell also plans to visit Michigan and Texas in the spring, and is considering OSU, Michigan, Texas, USC and TCU for official visits this summer, though that list may change after the spring.

Jeremiah Smith to visit Florida State this weekend

Ohio State’s most highly-touted commit in the 2024 class is taking a visit to another school this weekend. Five-star Florida wideout Jeremiah Smith, the second-ranked player in 2024, will visit Florida State per 247Sports. Smith will be accompanying his high school teammate, Joshisa Trader (another OSU wide receiver target), on the trip.

It makes sense that in-state schools would heavily continue to pursue a talent such as Smith, and this surely won’t be the last attempt another school makes in an attempt to flip the five-star prospect. But Smith has remained loyal to the Buckeyes since committing in December, and it would take something significant for him to change his mind considering his relationship with offensive coordinator Brian Hartline and probable future teammates Carnell Tate and Brandon Inniss.
