A top offensive tackle in the 2026 class is high on Ohio State following the 2024 season.

Four-star Texas prospect Felix Ojo told On3 Tuesday Ohio State is one of six schools recruiting him the hardest at the moment, along with Oklahoma, Michigan, USC, Texas and Oklahoma.

Ojo has heavy interest in both OSU and Michigan among those six and plans to release a top schools list early in 2025. He earned his OSU offer in June following an impressive performance at a Buckeyes recruiting camp.

“Coach Mike (Sollenne), coach Frye, I’ve been building a relationship for a long time now,” Ojo told Eleven Warriors in June. “Me finally being able to make the trip up here was a great feeling, just to see him coach in person really. The city of Columbus is actually a beautiful city. Like, one of the better cities I've been to. Facilities, the facilities are great over here. So far, what I've seen, it's just a great environment.”

The 6-foot-6, 285-pound prospect is considered the No. 130 prospect and No. 11 offensive tackle in the 2026 class per 247Sports’ composite rankings. He hopes to commit before the start of his senior season and could commit on July 4, his birthday.

“I'm really looking for good relationships with coaches, because again, when I commit to a school, I'm going to be with that coach for four years,” Ojo said. “So I want to have a good relationship. Facilities to help build me into the top offensive lineman in the nation. And then also education, which programs have the best thing for my major.”

Bowling Green offensive tackle Alex Wollschlaeger enters the portal

It feels like every Hurry-Up we’re highlighting another offensive lineman the Buckeyes could potentially have interest in. Considering the urgent need for productive players up front, that’s hardly surprising.

Another intriguing prospect entered the portal on Tuesday and he wouldn’t even need to leave the state if he wanted to join the Buckeyes. Bowling Green offensive tackle Alex Wollschlaeger is on the market following a season where he was a first-team All-MAC selection.

The 6-foot-7, 305-pound Wollschlaeger played 39 games for the Falcons and will have one season of eligibility left. Wollschlaeger turned in an overall player grade of 76.9 on Pro Football Focus last season for Bowling Green.

A quick note

I’ve noticed there’s a lot of confusion out there regarding the rules for any potential recruit or transfer prospect taking a visit to Ohio State for the Buckeyes’ playoff game on Dec. 21. I myself wasn’t 100 percent confident in what the NCAA rules are, so I did some asking around.

In short, the College Football Playoff game will fall under an NCAA recruiting quiet period, which means any recruits are allowed to be on campus, but the Buckeyes (or any other team hosting a CFP game) are not permitted to provide complimentary tickets.

Seems like a little bit of a bummer since it would be a major recruiting tool, but life goes on.

Dillon Thieneman visiting Ohio State within next week

In case you missed it on Tuesday, one of the most coveted players in the transfer portal is taking a visit to Columbus within the next week. Per On3, Purdue safety Dillon Thieneman will take visits to both Oregon and OSU soon, and is also considering Penn State, Texas, Georgia and LSU.

How excellent Thieneman has been may be overshadowed by the fact that he’s played for two terrible Purdue teams, but the 6-foot, 205-pound safety make waves his freshman year by earning Big Ten Freshman of The Year honors by intercepting six passes, recording 106 total tackles and two forced fumbles. He followed that up with 104 tackles, a sack and seven pass breakups this season.
