Buckeyes in the NFL, Week Four: Jenkins Shows Harbaugh What Life Would be Like Coaching Michigan

Is he watching a replay of Malcolm Jenkins' interception or Michigan/Minnesota?

The Michigan football program is making progress – the Wolverines are the biggest story in college football right now.

Brady Hoke's general mismanagement is aiding their resurrection from irrelevancy, but this weekend was particularly damaging to his cause. Not only did Michigan lose again, Hoke is also now incapable of discerning if one of his players has a concussion. Fans didn't really need that ammunition to call for his firing, but if a competent athletic director was in charge, the school might be looking for a new head coach immediately.

Speaking of, the details in this report will change if Dave Brandon is, somehow, still employed after football season ends. Assuredly, the Michigan administration would take either Harbaugh brother if they had the choice. Obvious question: do John or Jim Harbaugh want them back?

After what the Eagles' Malcolm Jenkins did to the 49ers, Sunday, Jim is probably frightened by the prospect of facing a full team of Buckeyes in the future. Jenkins is also quite familiar with making big plays against the Wolverines.

Later in the game, Carlos Hyde showed some appreciation for a fellow Ohio State alumnus, as El Guapo and Jenkins hugged it out:

What the world needs now is love sweet love

Shazier Sidelined by Knee Injury

Ryan Shazier left last Sunday's game against the Panthers with an apparent knee injury, but head coach Mike Tomlin did not elaborate after the game.

We received clarity on his injury later in the week, as it was revealed Shazier has a sprained MCL, according to multiple outlets. He did not play in Pittsburgh's loss to Tampa Bay and CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports Shazier will be out "a few weeks."

The Steelers play their next two opponents – the Jaguars and Browns – on the road, which will be in Shazier's home state and adopted home state.

Pryor is Trying to Keep The Dream Alive

Tampa Bay did not need any help at the quarterback position during their comeback win over Pittsburgh, but they looked for some earlier in the week.

Mike Glennon threw for over 300 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's win, but the backup QB situation is a bit unsettled. Glennon replaced opening day starter Josh McCown, who is dealing with a thumb injury, and former Northwestern quarterback Mike Kafka is listed as the third stringer.

With McCown likely to miss a few more weeks, Tampa is searching for a potential addition to the roster. So, the Bucs looked at a former Buck:

Pryor did not make it past the preseason with the Seahawks, who kept Tavaris Jackson as the only backup to Russell Wilson.

Nugent Wins Mysterious Bet with Teammate

According to the Associated Press and WCPO in Cincinnati, Bengals kicker Mike Nugent and punter Kevin Huber placed a friendly wager on the outcome of Saturday's Ohio State – Cincinnati game.

According to the story, Nugent missed it because of a wedding (boo fall weddings) and Huber, a former Bearcat punter, will pay off the bet on Twitter. Keep an eye on @khuber10 and @MikeNugent85 to see the results.

Play of the Week

With Ted Ginn Jr. and the Cardinals on a bye, there was a suspicious absence of big plays from Buckeyes in the NFL.

The only notable one was Jenkins' interception return, so watch him shred Hyde, Alex Boone and the 49ers in GIF form (via Bleacher Report):
