Braxton Miller’s father says his son intends on coming back to Ohio State next season, according to the Columbus Dispatch.
“Unless something drastic changes, that’s his plan, that’s why he went to Ohio State,” Kevin Miller told the newspaper Friday afternoon.
“He loves Ohio State. So right now that’s what the plan is, to come back and do whatever he can do to help the team make it to the playoffs again next year and win the title.”
Miller, a two-time Big Ten Player of the Year and preseason Heisman Trophy candidate, has missed all of the 2014 season after reinjuring his throwing shoulder 12 days before the team's season opener.
In a released statement in August, Miller declared his intention to "to attend graduate school, and then return to lead the Buckeyes" in 2015.
But after watching redshirt freshman quarterback J.T. Barrett guide the fourth-ranked Buckeyes to a Big Ten Championship and break multiple school records along the way, speculation has lingered over whether Miller would enter the NFL Draft or even transfer to another program.
“Nobody has called, and we haven’t talked to anybody,” Kevin Miller told the Dispatch.
He added: “People just have to have something to write about or talk about, I guess … Some of the stuff we’ve seen is just comical — like I saw something about Arkansas, one about South Carolina. You can’t control what people do, what people write. But we haven’t talked to any of them.”
Miller, a senior and three-year starter who’s been a staple at Ohio State since being thrust onto the scene his freshman season, is expected to graduate Dec. 21.
Ohio State plays No. Alabama in the Sugar Bowl Jan. 1.
