Ohio State donned black for the first time ever in a primetime victory over Penn State, but it looks like the Buckeyes won't be wearing black in the near future.
Ohio State is selling game-worn black helmets from the 38-10 win for $2,000 a pop — but only to season ticket holders who win a lottery.
Forty-five helmets are up for sale. Entries for the lottery will be accepted until Tuesday November 18th.
The university notes proceeds from the sale will go towards — and this is verbatim from its email to season ticket holders — offsetting "the cost of the 2016 alternate helmet and uniform." Which begs the question, Ohio State pays Nike to wear its alternate jerseys?
