Malik Hooker came to Columbus as a three-star athlete from New Castle, Penn. in 2014. He left as a surefire first-round draft pick after one year of starting.
Hooker's name will be called by an NFL team in Philadelphia next month. Hooker, however, won't see it live. Thursday, he told Pro Football Talk Live he plans to skip the draft in order to watch it with family and friends.
Hooker continues to recover from offseason hip labrum and sports hernia surgery. He told reporters at the combine in February that he was "way" ahead of schedule.
The 2017 NFL Draft will be held April 27-29 in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art at Eakins Oval.
