All week, Baker Mayfield spoke about how embarrassed he was watching Ohio State celebrate their win in Norman last year.
Saturday night, he got his revenge.
Immediately following Oklahoma's 31-16 win over the Buckeyes, Mayfield took his school flag, ran to the 50, waved it back and forth, and planted it in the middle of the Ohio Stadium's Block “O.”
Asked why he planted the flag, Mayfield had the following to say.
“It's a combination of things. Part of it is last year. Like I said in press conferences, it was embarrassing for them to sing their fight song on our field and they probably feel the same way right now. We've had that mood in the locker room that nobody believes in us. Nobody picked us on GameDay and you saw it on social media throughout the week.”
