Ohio State's quarterback situation has been the story of the week in Columbus and across the college football world. Following the Oklahoma loss, Urban Meyer made it clear that the Buckeyes would be sticking with J.T. Barrett, but the debate is still raging on.
The discussion continued Saturday morning on ESPN's College GameDay as Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, and David Pollack touched on the 12:1 odds of Barrett getting benched.
Each of the four ultimately sided with the fifth-year senior remaining the lead guy in Columbus.
Herbstreit stated that if you bench JT you have to bench the offensive coordinator, wide receivers, and the offensive line. He specifically mentioned the receivers not always running the right routes. He went on to talk about recruits speaking out on the issue and went as far as referring to some five-star recruits as a "dime a dozen."
Corso feels there is a "zero percent" chance that Barrett gets benched. Desmond Howard – who is always one to chime in with a well-informed opinion – rambled on about not having a "high recruit" behind Barrett and that being the primary reason that he will continue to be the starter.
J.T. Barrett could set the Big Ten record for total touchdowns today but ESPN has a betting line of 12-1 that he will lose his job this year pic.twitter.com/BHDJIIghkX
