Bowen earned the job in fall camp after Meyer said he ran away with the competition.
Redshirt sophomore Matthew Burrell, a four-star prospect in the 2015 class, replaced Bowen at guard.
After leaving the game, Bowen tweeted thanks to fans for the outreach.
I'll be alright everybody. I appreciate all the support. Go Bucks!
