Maryland was thought to be a test for the Buckeyes. Not so much.
Behind a strong performance from J.T. Barrett and the Ohio State defensive front, the Buckeyes rolled to a 62-14 Homecoming win over the Terps Saturday in Ohio State.

We pick up on Ohio State's first possession of the game. The Buckeyes, facing a 3rd-and-4, converted, thanks to this bullet from J.T. Barrett to Johnnie Dixon.
Four plays later, Barrett would finish the nine-play, 70-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown to put the Buckeyes up 7-0.
Ohio State would score on Maryland's first possession, too, thanks to this Nick Bosa sack, which led to a fumble scooped and returned 20 yards for a touchdown by linebacker Jerome Baker. 14-7, Buckeyes.
That two-touchdown lead would be short-lived, however, as Maryland's Ty Johnson returned the ensuing kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown. It would be one of many special teams blunders on the day for Ohio State.
The Buckeyes answered, immediately, though, going 70 yards in five plays, capped when Barrett found Binjimen Victor in the back of the end zone for an 8-yard touchdown.
The Victor touchdown would make it 20-7, Buckeyes. Why not 21-7? Well...
Maryland's next possession brought a bit of controversy when Ohio State cornerback Denzel Ward was ejected for targeting on this 2nd down play.
Let's take another look at the play...
One more, from another angle. Yup, it's 2017 and we still have no idea what constitutes targeting.
Want even more angles? You're welcome.
The teams would trade bad possessions – Ohio State's offerings included a blocked field goal and 22-yard punt – before Maryland advanced to the OSU 30-yard-line. Facing a 4th down, the Terps went for it and Baker made them regret that decision.
The Bucks would strike again on the ensuing possession when Barrett found Marcus Baugh in the flat – and he hurtled his way into the end zone. 27-7, Buckeyes.
After the Buckeyes forced a punt, Parris Campbell found the end zone on a nifty reverse that was good for 24 yards. Ohio State 34, Maryland 7.
The Buckeyes would tack on another first half touchdown to take a 41-7 lead into the locker room. Then, TBDBITL did their thing, pummeling Michigan:
Special team woes would continue in the second half as Ohio State kicked out of bounds to start the 3rd quarter. How are things, Urban?
A healthy Mike Weber got on the board again this week with this 4-yard touchdown in the 3rd quarter to put Ohio State up 48-7. Weber would 59 yards on 13 carries and one 53-yard reception.
On Maryland's ensuing possession, Chase Young gave Ohio State fans a glimpse of the future with this sack fumble, which was recovered by Jashon Cornell.
J.K. Dobbins would go on to score for Ohio State to capitalize on the fumble. The 4th quarter would see an Antonio Williams touchdown to make it 62-7 and then Maryland would find the end zone late in the 4th for the final score of 62-14.
