In the midst of the best season of his NFL career, former Ohio State defensive end Cameron Heyward has been named as the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 12, marking the second time this year he has won the award.
Heyward earned this week's award for his performance in the Pittsburgh Steelers' 31-28 win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football, in which he recorded six total tackles and had two sacks for a second consecutive game.

With a career-high nine sacks among 38 total tackles for the season, Heyward is the first Steelers player to earn two AFC Defensive Player of the Week awards in one season since Troy Polamalu in 2010. Heyward previously earned the award after recording four tackles and two sacks in the Steelers' 26-9 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4.
Heyward, who played for the Buckeyes from 2007-10, is in his seventh NFL season.
